► The exchange programmes and active international contacts and collaborations offer opportunities for studies abroad as well as possibilities for incoming students.

► We welcome students from several countries all over the world within international and European Erasmus + exchange programmes. To serve our international student community we offer a wide range of high quality and innovative learning opportunities mainly in English ranging in scale from individual courses through the educational system of “reading

courses” up to entire modules and Master’s and doctoral programmes. All of the University’s departments are now within the European Credit Transfer System.

► To facilitate student mobility we are continuously upgrading our academic and student support services. The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) plays an important role in looking after the welfare and well-being of international students and organizes a wide range of social and cultural activities. For several years, we have sought to define our profile by stressing the international dimension in all our activities in research, teaching, cultural policy and services. Our strategic goal is to strengthen our position as a multi-disciplinary university equipped to meet the global, international and regional challenges.

► The international activities and cooperation in which the University is engaged influence and enhance the quality of our education and research. The quality and impact of international cooperation in education and international activities improve students’ ability to compete both in the national and international market as well as broadening and improving their potential for success in a multinational environment.

► The outgoing or incoming Erasmus students, our own teaching staff and administrative staff as well as visiting staff from abroad play a central role in strengthening international cooperation at all levels. We strongly believe that even a short period of teaching and also training abroad can help to equip the teaching staff as well as administrative staff on a personal level to face the challenges of internationalization.

► Our aim is not only to provide international students with good quality teaching and interesting research projects but also to offer modern, up-to-date facilities, pleasant surroundings and a variety of social activities.

► European and International mobility of Panteion is implemented through its Department of International Relations and European Union (Erasmus Office). The main tasks of the Department are the promotion and monitoring of inter-university agreements, the collection and diffusion of academic exchange programs and research opportunities, the coordination and administrative support of the University’s European Educational Programs, especially in the framework of inter-institutional agreements, such as Erasmus, the organization of international meetings and expositions, etc.

► The Erasmus+ Program is coordinated by the Institutional Coordinator assisted by Departmental Coordinators and the Erasmus Committee defined by the Senate. Erasmus Office consists of highly qualified administrative members. The adopted accurate measures based on strict criteria and highly defined qualifications proceed to the student, teaching and

training staff mobility. Promotional and guidelines meetings, organized by the International Office, take place twice a year. Panteion ESN frames our efforts to organize supplementary events to the profit of the Erasmus Society in order to promote the exchange mobility. The admission of public in an equipped hall is supported by our updated website. The Bilateral Agreements are signed by the Rector who is the legal representative of the Institution, after being examined as to the academic added value.

► The successful completion of the study period abroad for each of the selected courses mentioned in the Learning Agreement is recognized by awarding ECTS. Our Institution has already adopted the ECTS (in parallel with our local credit system) which is

designed to guarantee quality, transparency and full academic recognition. The credits for each course followed abroad are allocated and consented by both the academic and departmental coordinator according to the Transcript of Records approved by the host institution. Students can be awarded ECTS after having attended and successfully completed courses according to the pre-signed Learning Agreement and having taken part in examination leading to a successful completion and approval of the student’s knowledge/ skill. The adopted academic credit system emerges from Bologna Convention in accordance with the Greek Higher Education necessities, given that a great number of fundamental operational and academic principles are under revision.

► Since 1987, founding year of Erasmus program, Panteion University -of the very first Greek universities to join –through the Department of International Relations and the European Union, has successfully participated in the program, now counting more than 180 bilateral agreements established with universities of programme countries all over Europe,

facilitating outbound and inbound student, administrative and teaching staff mobility and safeguarding the principles as set out in the Erasmus Charter.

► Since 2015 Panteion University joined the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility establishing bilateral agreements with universities from People’s Republic of China, Egypt, USA, Russian Federation and Serbia. In 2016, the Panteion University

submitted a new proposal including over forty Universities in 13 countries worldwide, thus widening the scientific spectrum of student and teaching mobility globally.

► As the connection between science and practice becomes an imperative every day and in view of the economic difficulties and unemployment, Panteion University spearheaded the foundation of a Consortium for Traineeships (Placement) in the framework of the Erasmus+ enabling students to pursue an internship -and potentially a career- abroad. Originally composed by Higher Education Institutions led by Panteion University, the Consortium is now enriched by local authorities connecting and diffusing knowledge to society and labor market. Currently, the Consortium members are Panteion University (Coordinator), University of Piraeus, Harokopio University, National Technical University, Democritus University of Athens, Technological Education Institute of Piraeus (Piraeus University of Applied Sciences), Municipality of Piraeus, Municipality of Kallithea, Municipality of Maroussi).

► The Department of International Relations and European Union is responsible for the smooth process and viability of the Erasmus+ program through all stages, from the call and proposal drafting to administrative implementation, providing support to outgoing as well as incoming mobile participants. On that basis, our University, student-oriented, has secured free access to University Library services and to Panteion sports Center. Towards the aim to facilitate the integration of foreign students to Greek everyday life and culture, Panteion University offers Greek language courses, in cooperation with the Modern Greek Language Teaching School of University of Athens.
